Resource Pack: RSE

Relationships and Sex Education (RSE) goes beyond biology - it's about building healthy, respectful relationships and equipping young people with the skills to navigate emotional and social challenges. This RSE resource pack brings together a mix of Peerscroller videos covering all four of our key themes, supporting students in understanding relationships, personal boundaries, and their identity.

From consent and communication to sexual health and mental well-being, this pack covers essential topics that empower students to make informed, respectful decisions. The videos promote reflection and discussion, making them a valuable resource for classrooms, one-on-one sessions, or independent learning.

This is the first in a series of RSE-focused packs, and it’s a great starting point for important conversations that will help guide students through life’s complexities.

For all Key Stages 3-5

The video by Evie highlights the importance of recognising and communicating what you’re comfortable with, whether it’s physical space, emotional needs, or behaviour. It encourages students to respect others' boundaries and to feel empowered to set their own. Understanding boundaries helps create healthy relationships and ensures everyone feels respected!

In this video, Sam introduces the basics of contraception, focusing on the two main types: hormonal and barrier methods. The video encourages students to consider what might be right for them and directs them to helpful resources, like how to find contraception locally and confidentially. It’s a great starting point for guiding students through their options in a supportive, non-judgmental way.

Nate helps break down the important concept of consent. It explains that consent is a choice made by someone with both the freedom and capacity to give it. The video takes students through what each of these terms means – from understanding that consent is a clear decision to knowing that it must be given without pressure or manipulation. It’s a crucial resource to start conversations about healthy relationships and boundaries.

For Key Stage 3

In this video, Matt dives into the whirlwind of changes that come with puberty, breaking down what’s going on inside and outside a young person’s body. From growth spurts to mood swings, and everything in between, it can all feel overwhelming. It’s a great starting point for opening up conversations about self-confidence, managing change, and understanding your body, without all the embarrassment.

In this video, Evie encourages young people to pay attention not just to the words someone says, but also to their body language, tone, and facial expressions, which can sometimes convey a different message. It’s a useful resource for exploring healthy relationships and teaching students how to recognise and respond to both verbal and nonverbal cues in a respectful way!

In today's digital world, young people can face complex challenges around privacy and consent. The ease of sharing images online means that personal pictures can quickly spread beyond their intended audience - sometimes with serious consequences. Evie helps students understand the legal and ethical responsibilities of sharing private images, encouraging them to think critically about their choices and the impact on others.

For Key Stages 4-5

This video by Sam helps students explore the concept of consent in maturing relationships. It reinforces that consent is always a personal choice and that being in a relationship doesn’t mean automatic agreement to sex. It challenges myths around obligation and ownership, encouraging students to prioritise their own boundaries and respect those of others. Use this resource to spark discussion around healthy relationships, mutual respect, and the importance of enthusiastic consent.

In this video, Sunny explores the signs of emotional abuse in relationships, helping students recognise when a relationship is no longer healthy. It encourages students to reflect on their own experiences and understand that they deserve to feel safe, valued, and respected in all relationships. Use this video to open up conversations about healthy relationships, red flags, and the importance of seeking help when needed.

In this video students will explore the signs of manipulation in friendships and how to recognise when a friendship has become one-sided or controlling. It encourages students to trust their instincts, set boundaries, and seek support if they feel pressured or walked over in a friendship. Use this video to spark discussion on healthy friendships, peer pressure, and standing up for oneself.
