1. Download the thumbnail of your chosen video.
Each Peerscroller video comes with a ready-made thumbnail image. From the Browse menu the Teacher Portal, find the video that you would like to use within your lesson, and click the ‘Download’ button located to the right of the thumbnail. This automatically downloads the thumbnail to your device.
2. Insert the thumbnail into your presentation.
Once the thumbnail is downloaded, head over to your presentation and go to the slide where you’d like to place the video.
If you’re using Microsoft PowerPoint: Click ‘Insert’ > ‘Pictures’ > ‘This Device’, then select your downloaded thumbnail.
If you’re using Google Slides: Click ‘Insert’ > ‘Image’ > ‘Upload from computer’, then choose the thumbnail.
3. Copy the Teacher Portal link for the video.
Head back to the Teacher Portal, and click the ‘Copy Link’ button located to the right of the thumbnail. This will copy the video’s link to your clipboard.
4. Hyperlink the thumbnail.
If you’re using PowerPoint: Click on the thumbnail, then go to ‘Insert’ > ‘Link’, paste the video link, and click ‘OK’.
If you’re using Google Slides: Select the thumbnail, press Ctrl + K (Cmd + K on Mac), paste the link, and press Enter.
Please note this link will provide access to the video via the Teacher Portal - your learners won't be able to view it independently.
5. Play your video!
Now you’re ready to start teaching! In slideshow mode, click the thumbnail to open the video link. The video will play in your browser - just make sure you’re logged into the Teacher Portal!
